Testing

Checked before it leaves Vasai.

Buoyancy, drop, strength and material checks are carried out at Valiv before despatch. Products are additionally tested at an Indian Government approved laboratory.

The laboratory

An ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory, in-house, as stated by MM.

MM runs its own testing laboratory at Valiv, and states ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for it since 2018, covering safety helmets, life jackets and lifebuoys.

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. It asks for calibrated equipment, documented test methods, trained staff and results that can be traced and repeated.

So a batch is tested where it is packed, before despatch, and the figures on a test report come from MM’s laboratory, which MM states is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Ask for the accreditation certificate with your quote.

The jump test

150 kg, from 4.5 metres.

In this test a wearer weighing 150 kg jumped into the water from a height of 4.5 metres in an MM life jacket, and came straight back to the surface, afloat.

MM’s own film of the test; the weight and height are as stated by MM.
